PORCELAIN WORLDS

A feast of history and humor

An immersive three-course feast blending dining, drama, and design to explore the cultural impact of porcelain.

Projection, performance, and staged vignettes transform tableware into storytelling across a permanent exhibition at Castle Leuchtenburg.

PROJECT

As part of the permanent exhibition Porzellanwelten (Porcelain Worlds) at Castle Leuchtenburg in Thuringia, Germany, we created a cinematic banquet that places porcelain at the center of a theatrical, time-traveling dinner party.

Guests are immersed in a three-course narrative where eight actors, a roasted pig, and even live animals set the stage—revealing the social rituals and class dynamics embedded in porcelain’s golden age.

With humor and historical flair, the installation invites visitors to see porcelain not just as fine craftsmanship, but as a symbol of status, ceremony, and spectacle.

Because even the most delicate objects can hold the weight of history.
